Prevent Add to cart if quantity exceeds stock
Tagged: Add to Cart
Hi, how are you? This is me again haha.
Well I’m making some test to my store and having a lot of feedback before the launch and all that. One of my tester discover some “bug”. When you put in the quantity box more than the stock level, bodycommerce does not prevent user from “adding” to the cart and doesn’t even get an error notice to them after the action. Instead it try to update the mini cart and the mini cart shows up as well as the mini cart pop up, like it has been added the product to the cart, while it has not. Them if you reload the page, you will get all the error notices.
This is not a normal behavior of Woocommerce, I already check disabling bodycommerce and trying to purchase more than stock level and it does prevent users from purchasing a number beyond the stock availability. Simply the add to cart button won’t work and a notice saying you can’t add a number greater than stock level availability appears down the quantity box. This is the desire behavior of course.
This is particular important for purchasing on mobile devices where usually customers put the value themselves rather than use the provide more and less arrows.
